Exhibition Details:

For Women’s Day, we invite you to join us for two hours of communal improvised sound. Together, we will create a shared sonic space where everyone is welcome to play, sing, hum, pluck, or blow a single sustained note. One tone, held collectively. A sound that becomes presence.

The session is open to all: amateurs, non-musicians, music enthusiasts, and those who simply wish to listen. You may bring your own instrument or use your voice. Listening, reading, and resting within the sound field is equally welcome.

At the beginning of the session, Lisa Pulsatilla will offer a short introduction to female pioneers of sustained sound, situating our collective practice within a wider lineage of experimental and feminist sound work.

Featuring:

Lisa Pulsatilla is a Vienna-based flautist, electronic musician, and postdoctoral researcher at the University of Vienna.

In her live performances, she layers atmospheric textures with flute improvisation to create organic, deep, and natural soundscapes. Her work engages with sound in relation to the body, exploring vibration, release, and the transformative potential of listening.

She has been part of numerous community-driven music initiatives. In Montreal, she organised monthly jam sessions to create open and diverse spaces for artistic expression. She is a founding member of ShyGirls Collective, a project dedicated to supporting women and those embodying the ShyGirls spirit of making music in a caring and encouraging community. Currently, she is a member of Kollektiv Kaorle, where she develops her practice and contributes to a collective radio show.
